JULIE BENNETT Hello, Let me tell you a little bit about myself and my art. I am influenced by found type and urban decay and I am very interested in grid structures. I possess a good working knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Quark Xpress. My work focuses mainly on image making, using photography. I am sensitive to colour and composition. I have a happy, bubbly personality with strong leadership skills. I am a productive organiser and good communicator. I thrive under pressure and deadlines. I have an eye for detail, and endless enthusiasm. I am available for any freelance work and I am also interested in taking a junior position in the publishing world eg: Art Director, Graphic Designer. My published commissioned works include: Time Out Student Guide, Time Out London Guide, Lip Magazine, Time Out (London). Other projects include a national tour poster for a Scarlet Theatre production which I photographed, designed and produced. I also designed a stage set, back drops, liaised with Lighting Director for a Brix Theatre Production. All of which have gained me valuable experience with clients, printers, etc. My Interests include: Music, Travelling, Classic Cars, Computers, Comedy, and Cinema. My favourite artists include: Andy Warhol because of his desire to be famous, William Burroughs both artistically and literary, David Carson a typography god, Lucian Freud for so much texture in his paintings and for having a famous grandfather, Basquiat for being different to everyone else, Shinro Ohtake for his gorgeous collages, and lastly Gilbert and George for their desire to be different and famous.
